Frank Lloyd Wright Fireplace 1911

Lake Geneva Hotel, Lake Geneva WI

I have always loved the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, and at one point came across a book dedicated specifically to his fireplace designs.  Like his architecture in general, the designs for the fireplaces range from the organic, exposed beam, log cabin-looking, to  the rectilinear, geometrically intense, and often are a mixture of both.  His genius lies in his ability to incorporate these very different styles into visually stunning housewares.  The above example is one of my favorites and definitely represents the geometrically intense side, but the brick keeps it grounded in a classic fireplace design.
